Based on the philosophy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. the Nonviolence Summer Institute 2010 of the University of Rhode Island joins national and international participants interested in learning the skills necessary for promoting peace, nonviolence & social change in their communities.
An intensive training in KINGIAN NONVIOLENCE is the framework where nonprofits, professionals, academics, students, government officials, human-rights activists, clergy, law enforcement, health care workers, community, and those interested in promoting peace get together, learn and share their experiences.
