This training programme taking place in Palics, Serbia is organized by the Ecumenical Network for Youth Action - ENYA and is divided into two seperate modules. 10 Jahre „Ökumenische Dekade zur Überwindung von Gewalt“: Was haben Christinnen und Christen, Kirchen und Gruppen in diesen Jahren gelernt und erreicht, wenn es darum geht, „gewaltfrei leben zu lernen“ und „Kirche des Friedens“ zu werden? Die Herausforderungen sind nicht kleiner geworden in diesen 10 Jahren – im Gegenteil. Wie geht es also weiter nach dem Ende der „Dekade“?

In den 90er Jahren des letzten Jahrhunderts zerbrach Jugoslawien in einem brutalen Bürgerkrieg. Die im Kern wirtschaftlichen, sozialen und politischen Konflikte wurden ethnisch und religiös von den verschiedenen Seiten aufgeladen, was in der Folge zu zahlreichen Massakern unter ehemaligen Nachbarn und zu scheinbar völlig entgrenzter Gewalt führte. Ana und Otto Raffai, ein Ehepaar aus Zagreb, beide katholische Theologen, wollten sich nicht damit abfinden, wie ihre Heimat in Hass und Gewalt versank. Sie versuchten mit gewaltfreien Mitteln für Verständigung und Versöhnung zu wirken.

Die Teilnehmer der Friedenskonsultation 2010 werden sich mit den wirtschaftlichen Aspekten dieses Industriezweiges sowie der Forschung an und Entwicklung von Rüstungsgütern auseinandersetzen. Ein deutliches Friedenszeugnis der Kirchen ist nötig.

The aim of this colloquium is to attempt an objective reading of a set of key-texts, biblical, patristic and liturgical pertaining to the issue of the People of God, trying to discover a way to translate these traditions in adequate terms addressing the believers today. It also aims at finding a way to reduce the confusion resulting from the use of the term "People of God" and parallel terms in different semantic fields. The main question of the colloquium’s problematic is: if a Biblical term used in Liturgy and Theology comes to have a different, ambiguous, meaning in culture, would that term need to be changed, substituted, avoided, or redefined?
